The serial number indicates that it was built at Springfield in 1892

This is a lovely set of WWI era officers trench boots which still retain their original laces. They are the correct style for WWI, with dark worn leather. The heels of the boots are rubber and marked PORTAGE which would indicate that the boots were re heeled after World War I. The heel is marked 9 10 meaning the boots are either size 9 or 10, but we cant find the exact size. They stand at roughly 15 high. The boots
