Mayr, Richard - Signed Photograph in Die Meistersinger 1905 [LITERATURE] circa 1912Austrian bass (1877 1935), who was particularly admired for his performances in works by Mozart, Wagner, and Strauss, and created the role of Barak in the world premiere of Strauss' "Die Frau ohne Schatten". Signed cabinet photo, shown as Pogner in Wagner's Die Meistersinger, dated in 1905. Photo by Mertens, Mai, and Cie, Vienna. Size is 4. 5 x 8 inches, very slight paper loss at top left, otherwise very attractive vintage item in excellent condition.
