Domaine Genot-Boulanger Mercurey-Saumonts 1er Cru, 2023 barbera d'alba fresh poached fish100% Pinot Noir from the southeast facing Premier Cru Les Saumonts. It is a bowl shaped vineyard that is ideal for ripening, although the eastern side is hidden from the morning sun. The wine has a nice combination of weight and minerality for the Cte de Beaune. Chewy red fruit, with a spiced cocoa and tobacco backbone. Pair it with a Raclette or Gouda cheeseburger.
