A Military Merit Medal, Silver Grade, 25th Regiment consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac 500 Allied (mainly Dutch) Prisoners(Militr Verdienstmedaille in Silber). An excellent example, in silver, the obverse of the medal bearing a raised and rightward facing profile of Emperor Franz Joseph, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central wreathed inscription of SIGNUM LAUDIS (SIGN OF PRAISE), unmarked, measuring 29. 64 mm (w) x 49. 29 mm (h), on loop from a crown suspension with its period original tri fold ribbon, dark patina, light wear to ribbon, remains
