This is a large Cow Horn Powder Flask, measuring 12 inches in overall length. While possibly intended for a musket or other small arms, this size would sometimes be used for cannon priming. The end of the horn is fitted with a rounded wooden bottom plug which unscrews, and the threading is all hand carved. The small plug on this example is just rolled newspaper, we are unsure from what era. The horn has a lovely patina
