The regiment was originally raised by the Honourable East India Company in 1853 as the 3rd Bombay (European) Regiment and then saw action in India in 1857 during the Indian Rebellion

There is one area where the leather is partly torn through

and is just over 22" in overall length

Civil War Officer's Federal Model 1851 Regulation Plate Belt Buckle with a small fragment of the original belt still attached to the catch. The buckle is missing about 50% of the officers wreath. The leather fragment shows a good patina, and this would look great displayed with the catch attached
