His collar disc is partially visible, and it appears to read Company A, 7th Infantry Regiment. The 7th is credited with participation in the Aisne Defensive, the battle of Chteau Thierry, the defense of the Champagne Marne region and the attacks at Aisne Marne, Meuse Argonne, and Saint Mihiel.
