Instituted in 1915. In bronze gilt with red enamels, ball finials on the tips of the star points, unmarked, measuring 56. 5 mm (w) x 55 mm (h), horizontal pinback, intact enamels, spotting present on the reverse, very light contact overall, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Gallipoli Star was a military decoration awarded by the Ottoman Empire. It is also known as the Ottoman War Medal. It was instituted by Sultan Mehmed V on March
