This is a rare example of this . 28" bore Five Shot Revolver, a design patented on August 6th 1854 and again on April 28th 1857. The loading lever mechanism is much like that of a Colt pocket and Colt Navy Revolver. The Hammer is also mounted slightly off center to the right which is fascinating as well. There is some very nice engraving on the frame and cylinder. The only real markings are on either side of the
