Germany, Luftwaffe. A Pilot’s Badge, Refurbished Thin Wreath Variant, by F.W. Assmann & Söhne United Republic of Light brown and dark brown(Flugzeugfhrerabzeichen). Constructed of tombak and nickel silver, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse wiht a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of a thin wreath variant produced by F. W. Assmann & Shne, Ldenscheid, measuring 62. 74
