Ethiopia, Empire. A Distinguished Military Medal of Haile Selassie I United Republic of maker marked with the "VANGUARD"( ). Instituted in 1941. In bronze, measuring 39. 5 mm (w) x 45. 5 mm (h) inclusive of its integral wreath style ring, good detail maintained, light contact, three bronze palms designating additional second, third and fourth awards affixed to its original ribbon with pinback, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Distinguished Military Medal of Haile Selassie I was instituted in 1941 and was awarded for acts of gallantry or sustained distinguished effort
