Perhaps more than 400 years old this is a Burgonet Helmet with a roped Comb and hinged earflaps supported by brass Rosettes. There appears to be an ancient Armorers Mark of "EH" to the rear collar of the helmet beneath the plume holder on the left hand side. The pointed peak shows remains of the roping border but also shows age wear and some metal fatigue and cracking in various different areas of the helmet. The
