This is one of the most interesting examples of these WWI periscopes we have offered. It likely saw use during World War I, and then post war was stenciled with the Art Deco Styled Lettering Logo of Rival Shoes, a popular shoe company in the late 1910s & 1920s. They began using this style of lettering in 1917, so this stenciling dates between then and the 1930s. This was likely done directly after the war for a victory
