This is a tremendous powder flask consisting of leather covered wood with metal fixings for the cap and base of the flask, with a long piece of metal for use as a belt hanger. The construction of this piece, while not giving a clue as to the exact country of origin, does date it to around the mid late 1600s. Similar examples of the period are of similar construction, with leather covered wood surrounded by smaller
